I will be rambling on and on about the coming elections because this is the greatest thing that has ever happened in the span of my whole entire life. There is a female woman running for president and an African American man. Who would think, I could of never fathom this coming to be and if someone told me this would happen I probably wouldn't believe them. I'm so proud and lucky to be able to see this. I don't think anyone knows how profound this is. Through out history all we have had are White male president's and all of sudden things could change. Who ever wins presidency this coming year could change society forever and I can't wait to see what changes are going to take place but I am leaning toward Barack Obama. This leads me to my next question "Is it possible for an African American man to be president? " Is it possible for a women to be president? Is their a possibiltiy that people will compromise the election because of the color to Barack Obama skin? Is it possible they will do the same for Hilary Clinton b/c shes a woman? These thoghts have been circulating my mind every since the election started and with good reason. My mom told me there is no way Barak Obama could be president simply because of the color of his skin. I wasn't born yesterday I know their has never been an African American president but theirs has never been a female president either. I know the preconcieved notions people have about African American men and it's terrible but partly true and the same goes for women but I hope with all my heart that people look pass the color of someones skin, I hope they look pass the gender of someone and see what the person has to offer, their experience, their character and their vision. Please I ask anyone and everyone who reads this blog please don't let your generalizations and sterotypes hinder you from making the right choice.
Thank you
